Book Review

Laci Rocha Peterson, 8 months pregnant, was last seen by her sister, Amy, in the late afternoon of December 23, 2002. She spoke to her mother, Sharon Rocha, at 8:30 p.m. that night. This would be the last time anyone from her immediate family ever spoke to her.

A search began which lasted an agonizing four months. Sadly, Laci Peterson and her son Conner were found dead on the shores of San Francisco Bay on April 18, 2003.

Her husband, Scott, was eventually arrested and charged with the murder of Laci and Connor. After a sensational, media-saturated trial, Peterson was found guilty of capital murder and was sentenced to death on March 16, 2005.

This book deals with the story in three separate sections: first, Sharon describes the ordinary, loving life her daughter led, including fond memories of her childhood and adolescence. Second, it covers her marriage, disappearance, the community's moving search for her, and her and Connor's eventual recovery from San Francisco Bay. Third, it tells the story of the trial in detail not before revealed. Sharon will also talk about victim's rights, a subject on which she now campaigns regularly.

From the Hardcover edition.

I can't tell you how deeply touched I was, reading this book. It's as if I was there with Sharon. I'm a proud mother if 5, grandmother of 7 & greatgrandmother of 10. I felt every bit of the heartbreaking pain Sharon & her family & friends went through. Thank God you were all there for each other. I know I will read this book many more times. In today's world, its reassuring to know there are so many loving & truly caring people still here among us. They are " earths angels". Love the book.

I haven't sat down to read a book in a long time, but once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. I smiled, I cried, I felt angry. The pain Laci's family went through, especially her Mother, was unimaginable. I highly recommend reading this, as I said it is incredibly powerful.

Sharon, thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter story. I cried, I got angry and cried again.. Thank you .. I truly believe Scott's parents are to blame for the spoiled, heartless son they raised..

This book is beautifully written and is touching. I feel the loss Sharon Rocha and her family went through. Whenever I see a ladybug I will think of Laci (and Conner.)

I hope Sharon Rocha writes some more because it's the best book I've ever read. I still think of Laci every time I see dragonflys.

From the time the story hit the news my heart went out to the families but especially to Laci's mom and when I read this story even more so as she poured her heart out. I can't begin to imagine the heartache she went through. I'm sorry you have and always will endure this pain. God bless

I can relate in lot of ways to this book. My relationship with my mother is much the same as yours. My heart aches for your profound sadness and loss. May this give you just one second of comfort and peace of mind. Though I did not know Laci I will remember her and honor the memory of her and Connor for the rest of my life. Holly
