    My only previous experience with running was in bootcamp. As you can imagine we were all required to run on a daily basis in formation. Based on this experience, I had never been a fan of running until now. As I have gotten older and a bit wider (no typo), I needed to increase my excercise routine. My wife and I decided to give running a try and read this ebook. What I liked the most was the encouragement that the author gives. He recognises that you don't need to be a star right out of the gate, but rather push yourself gradually to improve over time. We started out slow, and over time realized that we could go farther and farther. Running is one excercise where you can see real and measurable progress over time. I like this book and will look at others by the same author.

    My neighborhood has started a running club and I did not want to join because everyone in the club seemed to know exactly what they were doing and I was totally clueless. I bought this book precisely because I wanted to know how to run and lose weight and for that purpose this book is ideal. It has all the information that you need regarding how to get started and what the steps to weight loss are. It tells you the pitfalls to avoid and it guided me through the information that I needed to join my neighborhood club. If you are an experienced runner, this is probably not the book that you want but if you are not, this book is fantastic.

    Since I've lived this lifestyle imperfectly, by applying knowledge from this book, I feel so much better physically. I've lost weight. I feel lighter, happier, less moody, more alert. Many thanks to this book. This is one of those books that, now that I have read it, I wish I had a million copies that I could just hand out to random people I encounter throughout my days!

    If you've tried running like me many times and given up then this book is well worth a read. It gives you all the basics you need and more. It's now a pleasure to run and I'm amazed at how far I can now go without getting puffed out. It's really given me a sense of how good running is for you and just how unfit I was before. Great book and worth the money as far as I'm concerned.

    I was a runner when I was younger but then I got pregnant and started to gain weight and I stopped running and started walking. I wanted to start running again to see if I could get back to my college age weight and I bought this book. It has been fantastic! It gives you fantastic guidance about everything you need to get started as a runner or to pick up running again after a break from running/jogging. The sections on injury prevention and initial goals are especially useful as it is easy to get all gung-ho and over do it. This book is well organized, well written and a must read for new runners trying to lose weight.
