Book Review

Book 2 in the McMaster the Disaster series, complete with all new Disaster Diary entries.

Josie McMaster is on the move to London for a top-secret stint as a ghostwriter for a high profile celebrity. It's her dream job; she's got a beautiful place to stay in the English countryside, full access to the celebrity, and three months to complete the best ghostwritten autobiography anyone has ever seen.

In true McMaster the Disaster fashion, Josie tumbles head-first into scandal, apparently more than just an average ghostwriter in the eyes of this new celebrity. Not to mention she has never written a biography, but… how hard could it really be?

Of course, the paparazzi is not helping matters, constantly publicizing the 'when will Jake Hall pop the question' betting pool, which is completely ridiculous considering she and Jake have only been dating a short while...

... or is it?

  • Cringe worthy the entire read.

One of the worst protagonists ever. Shallow and whiny. She's the least likeable character in the story. Also, the writing is sugary and peppered with so many typos it can be a painful read. Not worth the moola.

I found the first book in the series to be mildly funny, if far-fetched but this one was just annoying. Josie is such a disaster that it's surprising anyone can stand her stupid antics, lazy attitude and whining. I know I couldn't wait for the book to end. Definitely not reading the third in the series. 😒

Do not buy books from this author. Terrible story writing with no substance. Sounds like the story of a 12 year old yet she is dating and having sex. I read this book and half of the next in the sequel before giving up. Wasted money on buying the three book sequel.

This book is great. It is fun, flirty, and sexy! The characters are humans with flaws, many flaws. But, that is exactly what makes each of us unique and special. I am looking forward to the third book.

I read the first book and fell in love with Josie's character. The disaster diaries literally had me in tears for laughing so hard. I truly could see myself in a few of those situations. That same appeal carried on in this book. I can't wait to see what mor disasters the future hold for sweet Josie! Great book!!!

Nothing earth shattering or life changing about these mc master disaster books. But they are sweet and mildly engaging in a mindless way.

Loved every minute of reading about Josie and her blunders. I rarely read a book in one day, but this one had me. Can't wait to leap into the next one. GO JOSIE!

The lead character is like someone we all know and love. This was a fun read and got me reminiscing about days gone by. Once you finish this book you have to read book 3!
