A Journey Through Time: My Thoughts on Mother of Learning: ARC 3

It’s hard to believe that I’ve reached the penultimate volume of Mother of Learning by Domagoj Kurmaic, or as he’s known in the web novel community, nobody103. From the moment I stumbled upon this captivating series, I knew I had found something special, and now, after immersing myself in the intricate tapestry of Zorian’s journey, I’m stuck in a whirlwind of emotions as I inch closer to the end of this marvelous adventure.

In ARC 3, the tension escalates following the explosive revelations at the end of the previous volume. Zorian and his friend Zach find themselves racing against the clock to prevent a catastrophic disaster as the time loop ticks relentlessly forward. It’s remarkable how Kurmaic manages to keep each moment fresh and exhilarating, seamlessly weaving together constant revelations with character development that keeps me on the edge of my seat.

One of the standout elements for me was Zorian’s character arc as he transitions from a somewhat isolated figure into a more collaborative hero. The interplay with the supporting characters deepens significantly, transforming the narrative into a richer tapestry that involves more than just Zorian’s perspective. The quotes, like “It’s not true fun unless you regret it immediately afterwards,” and “Silly old girl, making such blunders at your age…” echo the series’ exploration of growth, consequence, and the occasional folly that accompanies learning. This expansion of the narrative’s focus has made the stakes feel more communal and, dare I say, relatable.

Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my previous concerns about the pacing had been skillfully addressed. The scenes outside of the Cyoria academy that once felt drawn-out are now teeming with intrigue and significance. As Zorian develops new abilities and viewpoints, the world Kurmaic has crafted feels increasingly vibrant and impactful. It’s almost as if every moment, even the seemingly mundane, has been infused with newfound urgency, leading to an emotionally charged climax that I found utterly riveting.

Still, I caution future readers: while this volume brings much-needed forward momentum, it also leaves you hanging off a cliff, eagerly anticipating the resolution in the fourth installment. The narrative has built to an intricate high that seems to promise even greater heights ahead.

As I prepare to dive into the final volume next month, I can’t help but reflect on my journey through this web novel. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions—from thrills to wistful nostalgia—and it has ignited a curiosity about exploring more web novels like Worm and A Practical Guide to Evil. My heart, however, will always hold a special place for Mother of Learning; it set the bar high for web fiction.

If you’ve journeyed this far, prepare for the ride of your life as we edge closer to the endgame. If you haven’t yet delved into Kurmaic’s world, now is the perfect time to start—you won’t regret it!
